The class created an American flag using paper strips. They each took time to thank someone from their community or family that impacts lives. Here is the finished product. It turned out great!
Today we remember all of those that lost their lives on September 11, 2001. We especially remember and thank all of those service men and women that serve our country. The flag is an awesome way for the kids to relate to the events of 9/11; even though none of these kids were born at the time of this horrific event. I also wanted to comment on the 9/11 video that was shown in the classroom on Patriot's Day. Elijah came home that evening and wanted to show his brothers and parents this video. This video was well created to relate to a grade school child. At home we have discussed the events of 9/11 and it is sometimes hard to explain how and why things happened on that day. The video helped us as parents explain it in a way that we could not at home. Love the website that you have created for a resource for the students and parents. (Elijah does actually get on here very often...so keep the posts coming :)) Thanks again!

I'm so glad that the video was helpful at home and that Eli is using our website as a resource!
